Soybeans grow well in Tanzania's Southern Highlands, where farmers plant them in rotation with maize.

We source from farmers and suppliers we know. The beans are cleaned and checked for moisture and quality before they are bagged, so they are ready for processing when they arrive.

Types

Food grade

Clean, dry whole soybeans for food processing, graded 1 to 3 under East African Standard EAS 762, at most 13% moisture.

Feed / crushing grade

Soybeans for oil extraction and soybean meal for poultry and livestock feed, mostly from the Southern Highlands.

Grades & forms

Grade 1

EAS 762: up to 1% foreign matter, 1% broken beans and 2% defective beans.

Grade 2

EAS 762: up to 2% foreign matter, 2.5% broken beans and 3% defective beans.

Grade 3

EAS 762: up to 3% foreign matter, 5% broken beans and 5% defective beans.
